It’s been a month now with Savanna as our second dog and it has been delightful. Savanna is at the bitey stage and has the zoomies several times a day before falling asleep. I loved having all 5 puppies, but long term, having one puppy at a time is perfect. Savanna sleeps on our bed with being taken outside to pee & poop after 3 am. She & I then go back to sleep in the living room where we have special cuddle times until 7am. Cuddling with her is so calming for both of us. She loves to be close and sleeps tightly next to us. Sierra is adjusting to having a puppy around and seems to enjoy playing with Savanna, most of the time. There are moments when Sierra works hard to keep Savanna inline… as Savanna bites and chews on Sierra. Overall, not counting the growling moments, Sierra loves her puppy and now has someone to play with. Our family feels complete.

Sierra’s color has always been purple, and Savanna’s color is lavender.

Sierra and Savanna. Not only do these sound the same, but both are the names of places and both invoke nature. Sierra means mountain range and Savanna means a large, grassy plain, so it’s fun that they’re opposites as well.
