Autumn is arriving and we are all loving the slightly cooler weather. Training is forever, but definitely learning to walk on a leash with 2 poodles is a challenge for a puppy, as Savanna likes to jump on Sierra. We spend lots of our time cuddling as I feel strongly that our quiet times shape the loving quality in a puppy that carries over the rest of their life.
I feel so happy and at peace with the two poodles, even with all the ruckus that two add to our quiet life. We use a nanny cam to observe Savanna when we are away from home. Savanna has mostly been very quiet while we area away, but recently she howled for hours and seemed distressed. She stays in her pen while away to keep her safe from her puppy nature to eat anything or everything, while Sierra has the run of the house and mostly stays in my office on her dog bed under my desk. Savanna has to learn to be confined so it is part of her training. I want her to have some freedom that a crate does not allow. Savanna has her toys, water and some puzzle toys with kibble to snack on. She still howled for quiet awhile, which makes me worry. But she survived and was extremely glad to see us upon our return.
Sierra’s colors has always been purple and Savanna’s colors are lavender/lilac.
Sierra and Savanna. Not only do these sound the same, but both are the names of places and both invoke nature. Sierra means mountain range and Savanna means a large, grassy plain, so it’s fun that they’re opposites as well.
