November 1-30, 2025

We are still waiting for the snow to show up in our neighborhood. Seems like it will never come. We love to watch Sierra play in the snow, so hopefully Savanna will get a chance to run around with Sierra in December. In the meantime, it has been such a special time having Sierra’s puppy, Savanna. A puppy is a lot of work, training and caring for her. Savanna is very rambunctious, full of energy and at times wild. She loves to attack Sierra when we go outside, so training her to be more gentle is a priority. She is handling grooming so much better, she sits before going out the door as long as we insist and waits for permission to exit. Training is constant all day in the little things. Barking is something we have not had before in our poodles, so we are working on this issue. Savanna coat is changing, with more silver grey coming in. It will take 1.6 years for her to become completely silver, like Sierra.

So much joy and cuddles. I feel so happy having these 2 poodles. Whenever I get stressed or worried, petting them calms me down to being present. They are mindfulness reminders to stay in the present.

Sierra’s colors has always been purple and Savanna’s colors are lavender/lilac.

Sierra and Savanna. Not only do these sound the same, but both are the names of places and both invoke nature. Sierra means mountain range and Savanna means a large, grassy plain, so it’s fun that they’re opposites as well.
